At the rear, a sleek fastback silhouette, horizontal LED taillights, and a race-inspired diffuser deliver a striking finale. Finished with the AMG Exterior Carbon Package, AMG Night package, and 21-inch AMG cross-spoke forged wheels, this coupé is built to turn heads.

Interior: Performance meets luxury in every detail
The interior design uses the AMG high-performance sports car genes, which have been skilfully translated into a digital world and consistently further developed. Materials, workmanship, and "attention to detail" underscore the vehicle's claim to luxury in the interior. The cockpit design, right down to the central display in the centre console, is focused on the driver and impresses with a harmonious overall look. The fully digital instrument cluster is integrated into a three-dimensional visor.

The centre console flows into the lower section of the instrument panel. The functional and optical centre is the 11.9-inch multimedia touchscreen. The MBUX (Mercedes-Benz User Experience) infotainment system is intuitive to use and capable of learning. It offers extensive AMG-specific content in five display styles.

In the AMG Performance menu, the driver can call up a wide range of data with a tap of the finger on various icons: from output, torque, or lateral acceleration to the power distribution of the all-wheel drive or the current vehicle condition with tyre pressure and fluid temperatures. The wheel angles on the front and rear axles or the oil pressure in the active roll stabilisation system can also be displayed.

Using the capacitive display button on the control bar below the central display, the driver selects various functions such as media volume, assistance systems, vehicle functions, or the appropriate driving mode from "Comfort" to "RACE". Its head-up display shows relevant information and actions in three dimensions in the real driving situation and environment.

With their particularly sporty seat position, the AMG Performance seats lay the foundation for maximum handling sovereignty. The strongly contoured seat shape with integrated head restraints and AMG badge combines ideal lateral support with a particularly dynamic appearance—making every drive, from track to tour, an indulgent experience.

The three rounded double spokes of the AMG performance steering wheel combine stability with lightness. The steering wheel rim, flattened at the bottom is covered in Carbon Fibre / MICROCUT Microfibre. A sensor mat is also included to detect "hands-on". If the driver does not keep their hands on the steering wheel for a certain period, a warning cascade is started which, if the driver continues to be inactive, finally activates the emergency stop assistant.

The AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 9G transmission can also be shifted manually, quickly and precisely using the aluminium shift paddles arranged on the left and right behind the steering wheel rim.

Active aerodynamics for good balance and high efficiency
Every contour of the all-new Mercedes-AMG GT 63 4MATIC+ Coupé is crafted for aerodynamic supremacy. Developed with a relentless focus on efficiency and high-speed stability, its intelligent aero system balances low drag with minimal lift—delivering unwavering confidence, even during sudden manoeuvres at high speeds.

A technical highlight in the aero development is the two-part, active air control system AIRPANEL. The first part operates with vertical slats that are hidden behind the lower air intake in the front apron. The second part is located behind the upper air intake and has horizontal louvres. Normally all slats are closed. This position reduces air resistance and makes it possible to direct the air towards the underbody, further reducing the front lift. Only when certain temperatures have been reached on pre-defined components and the need for cooling air is particularly high, do the fins open (the second system only from 180 km/h) and allow maximum cooling air to flow to the heat exchangers.

The active aerodynamic element, which is hidden in the underbody in front of the engine, also contributes to the improved handling. This carbon profile, which weighs around two kilograms, is an exclusive AMG development and protected by patents. It reacts to the position of the AMG drive programmes and automatically lowers by around 40 millimetres at a speed of 80 km/h. This creates a Venturi effect, which sucks the car onto the road and reduces lift on the front axle. The driver feels this positively in the steering as the AMG GT Coupé can be steered more precisely in bends with even more directional stability.

More traction and driving stability: fully variable AMG Performance 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive
The AMG GT Coupé is equipped with fully variable AMG Performance 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive. The intelligent system combines the advantages of different drive concepts with fully variable torque distribution on the front and rear axle. The driver can also rely on a high level of driving stability and driving safety under all conditions: on dry roads as well as on wet roads. The transition from rear to all-wheel drive and vice versa takes place continuously, based on a sophisticated matrix that integrates the intelligent control into the overall vehicle system architecture.

An electromechanically controlled clutch variably connects the constantly driven rear axle with the front axle. The best possible torque distribution is continuously calculated depending on the driving situation and the driver's wishes. The new coupé can be driven in a continuously variable manner from traction-oriented all-wheel drive with 50:50 power distribution to the front and rear axles to pure rear-wheel drive. In addition to traction and lateral dynamics, the all-wheel drive also improves longitudinal dynamics for even more powerful acceleration.

AMG ACTIVE RIDE CONTROL suspension with active roll stabilisation
AMG ACTIVE RIDE CONTROL enhances driving dynamics by actively compensating for body roll using advanced electromechanical stabilisers on both axles. Sensors monitor driving conditions and road surfaces up to 1,000 times per second, allowing the suspension and steering to adapt instantly. The result is a highly stable and responsive ride, with significantly reduced body movements during cornering, acceleration, braking, or uneven terrain.

This system not only delivers exceptional agility and control at the limits but also improves ride comfort during everyday driving. It sharpens the vehicle’s lateral dynamics for a more engaging drive while maintaining a smooth, composed feel on straights. The system seamlessly integrates with AMG DYNAMIC SELECT, enhancing each drive mode with greater precision, stability, and performance.

Rear axle locking differential for optimised driving stability
The all-new AMG GT Coupé has an electronically controlled rear axle locking differential, which ensures excellent traction and maximum driving safety in all driving conditions. Not only is the traction of the drive wheels on the rear axle further improved, the cornering speeds in the limit area also increase. In addition, driving stability is optimised when changing lanes at high speed. The system works with a variable locking effect in traction and overrun mode and is perfectly matched to the different driving conditions and road surface friction values.

Active rear-axle steering combines agility and stability
The all-new AMG GT Coupé is also equipped with active rear-axle steering. Depending on the speed, the rear wheels steer in either the opposite direction (up to 100 km/h) or in the same direction (faster than 100 km/h) as the front wheels. The system thus enables agile and stable driving behaviour in equal measure - characteristics that conflict with one another without rear-axle steering. Further advantages are the easier vehicle controllability in the limit area as well as less steering effort because the translation of the front wheel steering is more direct.

High-performance composite brake system with lightweight brake discs
The AMG high-performance compound brake system guarantees excellent deceleration values and precise metering. It impresses with short braking distances, sensitive response behaviour, and high stability - even under extreme loads. The composite brake discs are particularly light: Driving dynamics and steering behaviour benefit from the reduced unsprung masses. Brake disc (made of cast steel) and brake pot (made of aluminium) are now connected with special pins and no longer with screws as before. This construction saves space, which is used for even better brake cooling. The directional perforation is also new: In addition to the weight savings and better heat dissipation, this solution scores with a faster response in the wet and better cleaning of the pads after braking.

Six drive programmes and AMG DYNAMICS: from comfortable to dynamic
The six AMG DYNAMIC SELECT drive programmes "Slippery", "Comfort", "Sport", "Sport +", "Individual", and "RACE" enable a wide range of vehicle characteristics from comfortable to dynamic. Each programme offers an individual driving experience, precisely tailored to different driving conditions.

AMG TRACK PACE: data logger for use on the racetrack
AMG TRACK PACE is on board as standard. The software is part of the MBUX infotainment system and records more than 80 pieces of vehicle-specific data (e.g., speed, acceleration, steering angle, brake pedal actuation) ten times per second while driving over a defined route. 40 parameters can be displayed live in the "Telemetry" screen, up to four of them at the same time.

Driving assistance systems: intelligent helpers in the background
With the help of numerous sensors, cameras, and radar, driver assistance systems monitor the traffic and the surroundings of the all-new coupé. If necessary, the intelligent helpers can intervene at lightning speed. Drivers are supported by numerous new or expanded systems - in everyday situations, for example by distance control, steering, and lane changes. In the event of danger, the systems help to react appropriately to an imminent collision. The functioning of the systems is visualised by a new display concept in the instrument cluster.

The assistance display in the instrument cluster clearly and transparently shows how the driver assistance systems work in a full-screen view. The driver recognises the car, lanes, lane markings, and other road users such as cars, trucks, and two-wheelers in a spatially abstract manner. The system status and functionality of the assistants are visualised based on this representation of the environment. The new animated assistance display is based on a 3D scene generated in real time. This high-quality and dynamic representation makes the functionality of the driver assistance systems transparent in an augmented reality driving experience.

Numerous connectivity services available
The MBUX infotainment system makes it possible to use many digital services from Mercedes me connect. The advantages are the smartphone integration of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and the hands-free system via Bluetooth connection. In connection with MBUX, customers have access to connectivity services such as live traffic information. With Mercedes me connect, the all-new AMG GT Coupé becomes more intelligent overall: additional functions can be used before and after the journey or while on the move. All you need to do is link the coupé to a Mercedes me account in the Mercedes me portal and accept the terms of use. Thanks to navigation with live traffic information and Car to X communication, customers drive with real-time traffic data. You can avoid traffic jams efficiently and save valuable time. Networked vehicles use car to X communication to exchange information about traffic events.

The Mercedes-AMG SL 63 S E PERFORMANCE. The Star is reborn.

Mercedes-AMG redefines open-top performance with the new SL 63 S E PERFORMANCE—the most powerful SL ever built. As the fifth model to feature AMG’s cutting-edge E PERFORMANCE hybrid technology, it delivers a jaw-dropping 600kW (816hp) and up to 1,420Nm of system torque, combining the handcrafted AMG 4.0-litre V8 biturbo engine with an electric drive unit for explosive power and instant response. Launching from 0 to 100km/h in just 2.9 seconds and topping out at 317km/h, this powerhouse merges supercar-level performance with everyday usability. With advanced tech like AMG ACTIVE RIDE CONTROL with active roll stabilisation and rear-axle steering, the new SL 63 S E PERFORMANCE strikes the perfect balance between dynamic agility and luxurious comfort—delivering a drive that’s thrilling in every sense.

Highly dynamic driving characteristics and equipment on par with that of a luxury sedan serve to characterise the new Mercedes-AMG SL. With all these, the roadster features a classic soft top - and optional 2+2 seating configuration making it particularly suitable for everyday use.

The extroverted design emphasises the sporty potential from all perspectives: an elongated bonnet with pronounced power domes, short overhangs, and the flat front end create attractive proportions. For individualisation, customers can choose from numerous design packages. The AMG Night Package with certain features in high-gloss black, the AMG Aerodynamics Package with additional flics, or the AMG Exterior Carbon Fibre Package set special highlights.

E PERFORMANCE: Combustion engine at the front, electric motor at the rear
In the new AMG SL 63 S E PERFORMANCE, the AMG 4.0-litre V8 biturbo engine on the front axle is also combined with an electric drive unit on the rear axle. It integrates a 150 kW (204 hp), permanently excited synchronous electric motor with an electrically switched two-speed transmission and a mechanical rear axle limited-slip differential. The lightweight high-performance battery is also located in the rear above the rear axle. This compact design results in numerous advantages. The electric motor acts directly on the rear axle and can therefore convert its power more directly into propulsion. This provides an extra boost when starting off, accelerating, or overtaking. As slip on the rear axle increases, the driving force of the electric motor is also transferred to the front wheels as required. The mechanical connection of the fully variable AMG Performance 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive makes this possible via the cardan shaft and drive shafts of the front wheels. The positioning on the rear axle improves the weight and axle load distribution in the vehicle and thus forms the basis for convincing handling.

Inspired by Formula 1™, developed in Affalterbach: the AMG High Performance battery
The development of the lithium-ion energy storage is inspired by technologies proven in the Formula 1™ hybrid racing cars of the Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team. The AMG High Performance battery increases the overall performance of the SL Roadster. Added to this is the rapid energy consumption and high-power density. The high-performance battery offers a capacity of 6.1 kWh, 70 kW continuous power, and 150 kW peak power. Charging takes place via the installed 3.7 kW on-board charger with alternating current at a charging station, wallbox, or household socket. The battery is designed for fast power delivery and consumption and not for the longest possible range. Nevertheless, 13 km of purely electric travel (EAER) enables a practical operating radius.

The basis for the high performance of the AMG 400-volt battery is direct cooling: a high-tech coolant flows around all 560 cells and cools them individually. Every battery needs a defined temperature for optimal power delivery. If the energy storage device becomes too cold or too hot, it temporarily loses noticeable power or must be turned down to avoid damage if the temperature is too high. A uniform temperature control of the battery therefore has a decisive influence on its performance, service life, and safety.

Operating strategy: electrical power always available
The basic operating strategy is derived from the hybrid power pack of the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula 1™ racing car. As in the premier class of motorsport, maximum propulsion is always available when the driver needs it - for example, to be able to accelerate powerfully out of corners or when overtaking. The electrical power can always be accessed and frequently reproduced through high recuperation performance and demand-based recharging. The independent battery concept enables the optimal compromise between maximum driving dynamics and efficiency. All components are perfectly coordinated with each other: the increase in performance can be experienced and measured immediately.

The eight AMG DYNAMIC SELECT driving programmes “Electric”, “Battery Hold”, “Comfort”, “Smoothness”, “Sport”, “Sport+”, “RACE”, and “Individual” are precisely tailored to the new drive technology. They offer a wide range of driving experiences – from efficient to dynamic. The driving programmes adapt important parameters such as the response of the drive and transmission, the steering characteristic, the chassis damping, or the sound. The programmes can be selected using the AMG button and the central display in the centre console or the AMG steering wheel buttons.

The performance hybrid usually starts silently (“Silent Mode”) in the “Comfort” driving programme when the electric motor is switched on. The “Ready” icon in the instrument cluster signals that the vehicle is ready to drive. In addition, a powerful, sonorous, AMG-typical start-up sound is heard as acoustic feedback on the readiness to drive, which is radiated into the interior via the vehicle speakers. A light step on the accelerator pedal is enough and the AMG Performance Hybrid starts moving.

Recuperation can be selected in four stages
Because the high-performance battery is always in the optimal temperature window of around 45 degrees thanks to direct cooling, recuperation can also be optimised. Normally, a battery heats up significantly when the recuperation output is high, so energy recovery must be limited. Recuperation begins when the accelerator pedal is released, i.e. in coasting mode without touching the brake pedal. This charges the battery and creates a braking torque. The wheel brakes are protected or, depending on the recuperation level and traffic situation, do not need to be activated at all.

The driver can select four different levels of recuperation power using the right AMG steering wheel button. This applies to all driving programmes except for “Smoothness”. In the highest level, so-called “one-pedal” driving is possible. Over 100 kW of power can be fed back into the battery. Another advantage of recuperation: the vehicle does not become faster when driving steeply downhill. The system works like an engine brake.

Driver-focused interior with extensive choice options
The interior serves the sporty target group as well as customers who value maximum comfort. The cockpit design right down to the portrait format display in the centre console is focused on the driver and impresses harmoniously. The practical dimensional concept with 2+2 seating offers generous space in the interior.

One of many highlights in the interior are the electrically adjustable AMG Performance seats. Integrated headrests and ventilation openings in the seat backs are even sportier. Three massage programmes ensure excellent long-distance comfort. This can be increased even further: the ENERGIZING Package Plus combines seating functions and lighting moods to create relaxing comfort programmes.

The large selection of seat covers reflects the range from comfortable, to performance-oriented features. One- and two-tone Nappa leather is included, as is the particularly elegant MANUFAKTUR upholstery in Nappa leather with diamond quilting. The sportiness is emphasised by the combination of Nappa leather with MICROCUT microfibre and contrasting topstitching in yellow or red.

MBUX multimedia system with hybrid-specific displays
The MBUX multimedia system is intuitive to use and capable of learning. The new AMG SL 63 S E PERFORMANCE contains numerous AMG and hybrid-specific displays and functions. Exclusive menu items such as “AMG Performance” underline the sporty character. Hybrid technology can also be experienced visually: high-quality graphics visualise the power flow of the drive system. The speed, power, torque, and temperature of the electric machine can also be called up.

Active aerodynamics re-tuned
The active aerodynamics were also fine-tuned. It is adapted to electrified drive technology. The active aerodynamic element, which is hidden in the underbody in front of the engine, contributes to balanced driving behaviour. This carbon profile is an exclusive AMG development and protected by patents. It reacts to the position of the AMG driving programmes and automatically extends downwards by around 40 millimetres at a speed of 80 km/h.

Another active component is the extendable rear spoiler seamlessly integrated into the boot lid. It changes its position depending on the driving condition. The AMG aerodynamics team has adapted the control software for the new AMG SL63 SE PERFORMANCE to the higher performance and modified numerous parameters. They include the driving speed, the longitudinal and lateral acceleration, and the steering speed in the calculation. From speeds of 80 km/h, the spoiler adopts five new angular positions to either optimise driving stability or reduce air resistance.

Active rear-axle steering combines agility and stability
The new AMG SL 63 S E PERFORMANCE is also equipped with active rear-axle steering. Depending on the speed, the rear wheels steer either in the opposite direction (up to 100 km/h) or in the same direction (faster than 100 km/h) as the front wheels. The system therefore enables both agile and stable driving behaviour.

Easy to control and stable: the AMG ceramic high-performance composite brake system
In keeping with the extreme performance values and the associated performance, this vehicle is equipped with AMG ceramic high-performance composite brake system, featuring bronze-coloured 6-piston fixed calipers at the front and 1-piston floating calipers at the rear. Compared to AMG models with a pure combustion engine, it is larger in size: the carbon ceramic brake discs measure 420 x 40 millimetres on the front axle and 380 x 32 millimetres on the rear axle. The braking system impresses with very short braking distances as well as maximum stability and fading stability under heavy use. It also scores points with its long service life. The lightweight material saves additional weight and reduces unsprung masses.
